RED CROSS FLAG RELEASE FUNCTION AT PUNJAB RAJ BHAWAN AND USMAS, RBU TEAM

Chandigarh: The Punjab Governor and Administrator UT Chandigarh, Shri V.P.Singh Badnore today released the Red Cross Flag and a handbook titled “Moving Forward in the Service of Humanity” at Punjab Raj Bhavan. The Red Cross Volunteers (students) from Rayat-Bahra University pinned a Flag on the Punjab Governor and other officers in a brief function held in Punjab Raj Bhavan.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that the importance of First-Aid in the life of an individual as well as in the society can hardly be over emphasized. Punjab State Branch alongwith District Branches are taking up the task of imparting First-Aid-Training as a campaign and have achieved significant milestones in this regard in the last few years.

He said that the handbook compiled will have the required data and help in imparting the First-Aid-Training in a still more stream-lined and systematic manner.

He appreciated the efforts of the Punjab State Red Cross Branch and various district Branches of the State for actively playing their role to fulfill the noble mission of service to humanity.

Mr. C.S. Talwar IAS (Retd.), Secretary Red Cross said that the theme for the World Red Cross Day, this year is “What do you love about the Red Cross” is a thought provoking theme which incites us to think about those aspects of this organization which make it so much loved and respected. The functioning for Red Cross is guided by its seven golden principles namely Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity and University added Mr. Talwar. The officers from Punjab State Red Cross Branch & Rayat-Bahra University were present on the occasion.
