SCHOOLS CLOSED IN JAMMU AND KASHMIR’S KERNI SECTOR AFTER CROSS-LOC FIRING
Srinagar: The authorities on Wednesday ordered the closure of all schools falling in the jurisdiction of Kerni sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district following the cross-LoC firing between the armies of India and Pakistan.
“All Schools of Kerni Sector are hereby closed today on 02.05.2019 due to cross border shelling,” district magistrate said.
An official said that the Pakistan army resorted to mortar shelling in Qasba Kirni sector of Poonch district today morning.
He said the firing started at 10 am. The Indian army, he said, was retaliating effectively.
There was no immediate report of any loss of life on the either side of the LoC.
