SECURITY FORCES LAY SIEGE TO SHOPIAN VILLAGE

Srinagar: Security forces on Tuesday launched a cordon and search operation at a village in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

A police official said that mixed columns of army personnel, SOG and CRPF men launched a search operation in Narwaw village of the district.

“The operation was launched after security forces received inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area,” the official said.

He said that all the entry and exit points of the  village were sealed and  door to door searches were being conducted.

The operation was in progress when this report was being filed.
